9. Activate and setup your WIRELESS or CABELED network access, and if you want to,
Activate your copy of WindowsXP using shortcuts in the startmenu...
If not, countinue to Windows Update for additional NEEDED hardware updates....
10a. Go to Windows Update:
http://www.update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/default.aspx
10b. Install the "Windows Update ActiveX"
(Click the yellow warning bar, then start the installer that appears)
10c. (choose the "Custom Scan" button that appears at the bottom of the screen!)
10d. Then "Get the newest software for windows update" Press that "Install Now!" button!
10e. Then.. choose the "Custom Scan" button that appears at the bottom of the screen!
(dont choose the fast one) and let WinUpdate scan.. wait.. wait.. wait...
10f. Then press the "Download and install now" button for all the NEW Windows Update stuff...
(usally three downloads.. takes upto 2minutes on a 1mb internet line)
10g. Restart!
10h. (cancel the popups twice again, and go back to Windows Update!)
10i. Choose the "Custom Scan" button that appears at the bottom of the screen!
A list of "highly prioitated updates" will appear on the center/right hand side ->
press the button "REMOVE ALL" there.. Should remove upto 60-80 updates!
10j. Go to the left tab, and select "Hardware Optional" the choice number three
it should list something like 2-4 hardware drivers!
At my computer it shows these:
-->Advanced Micro Devices - Other Hardware - AMD Processor
-->CXT - Modems - HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP
10k. Select both of them, check that WinUpdate says you only have 2-4 updates to install
and press the "INSTALL UPDATES" (green button) at the left side panel!!
and then the "INSTALL UPDATES" button that appears! Let it download and install them!
REBOOT! (again, cancel the popups twice again)
11. Doubleclick the "09.SOUND" and it will both unpack and start the installer
The program will display a fancy install dialog...
And then it will fail! Perfect!
"Driver installation failed, cant find the hardware for this driver!"
Press OK, and smile! We have a fix!
12. Look at the pictures inside "10.PICTURES" on how to do the following:
Use Device Manager to install the driver from the unpacked SOUND folder.
Open Device Manager, Rightclick "Audio device on HD Bus"
Choose "Update Driver"
Say "no, not at this time" for connecting to Windows Update
Choose "Install from a list or specific location"
Choose "Don't search I will choose the driver to install"
In the list of common hardware types,
scroll down and select "Sound, Video, and Game controllers"
Remove the check from "Show Compatible Hardware" and click on "Have Disk"
Next...browse to the unzipped driver folder. SOUND folder!
Choose the WiSVHe5.inf
And Ignore XP when it complains about being NOT COMPATIBLE, because it is!
Then REBOOT !!
And now that you've got sound,
if you're anything like me you would almost RUN
into your controlpanel and disable all the
windows start and shutdownsounds.. hehe!!
We do want sound yes, but we dont want that awfull sound.... hehe
13. Install the "11.INTERGRATED" driver! Dont reboot yet!
(Original Filename: HP Integrated Module Bluetooth Wireless - sp34842)
14. Install the "12.WEBCAM" driver! Dont reboot yet!
(Original Filename: sp35414-HP 1.3 MegaPixel)
15. (Optionally)
Install the "13.LIGHTSCRIBE" driver, and REBOOT
(Original Filename: LightScribe.sp38081.exe)
16. Install the "14.FINGERPRINTREAD" driver and REBOOT!
(driver/software bundle)(autech/verisoft)
(optionally)
Set a password on your account using the control panel
Scan your fingers using the Verisoft Access manager,
and link to your user account,
and try out that fingerprint hardware.
Also remove the "show tips" inside settings,
to get a less nagging login welcome screen!

17. Install the "15.USB208" update to get optimal USB 2.0 Speeds, and REBOOT
(Original Filename: USB_v208.exe)
18. Pat yourself on the shoulder, and Smile!!
You are now done installing the drivers!!!!!!
19. Setup your XP the way you like it, defragment it, and make a backup
using GHOST, DRIVE-XML, or such programs!! For a later easy re-install!

( You should now have only 3 folders in C:\ Win.. + Prog.. + Docs.. )
