WHQL simply means that Microsoft has tested and verified these drivers, after their approval the drivers are stamped with the WHQL logo and thus certification.
The archive's files are dated 2 April 2003 which makes this the youngest set available online right now. Furthermore all NVIDIA graphics cards to date are compatible with these drivers which includes the new GeForceFX 5200, 5600 and 5800 series. No word yet on any performance increases. This is probably the moment many of you have been waiting for. I have just found the first installment of Nvidia Detonator video driver version 50.06.
This is the first release of the new 50.xx series ever but unfortunately this is a 64bit operating system driver only. It supports Windows XP 64bit and Windows Server 2003.
The driver has been released by Hewlett-Packard for their workstation models zx2000 and zx6000 and according to the release notes you must have the HP zx1 AGP GART driver installed. Since the driver comes packaged in an InstallShield archive I cannot present you with more information about the release.
However the surfacing of the 50.06 set leaves enough room for speculation that we will see the rumoured 'Detonator FX' soon enough.
Here's a new set of Nvidia Detonator Drivers 42.38 that I found at Dell! there dated 5/6/2003 by Dell but if you look inside the readme there dated 03/14/2003.
