А может прямо тут не вставая с места подскажете прогу, которая проверяла бы корректно в том числе и FTP-ссылки? Не качая файлы.

Можно ведь поставить количество проверок на одну ссылку, куда уж надежнее.
Или хотя бы автор сделал настройку количества проверяемых байт на ссылку.

40 или 50 кб требуются для обнаружения ошибок исходном коде страницы, например
- обнаружения перенаправления URL
- для обнаружения типовых сообщений об ошибках на HTML-странице. Множество серверов не отправляют код ошибки для несуществующей страницы, они отправляют нормальную страницу с текстом ошибки (некоторое объявление). Если качать несколько килобайт - этот тип ошибок обнаружить невозможно.

Программа: WGET
здесь по ней тема есть. Недавно ей проверял файлы с фтп. Этой прогой вообще всё что угодно можно сделать.

В общем случился у меня на машине любопытный глюк. Вдруг некотрые .exe файлы поменяли свой размер со стандартных своих 2 - 5 mb до 1 - 2 kb. Связи никакой не было, программы были различнвми от игрушек до ресторатора. Часть "сетевых" программ были нормальными, часть - поврежденными и т.д. С начала подумал, что вирус, но компьютер после проверки несколькими АВ был чист. Начал думать, что это могло быть и после недельного анализа нашел общую связь между глюкнувшими программам. На поврежденные в последствии файлы я указывал путь для отображения иконок в "избранном" IE на соответствующие программы в файлах .url.
Перед этим сбоем я запустил AM-DeadLink и начал проверять ссылки из пункта
FavIcons - Проверить выбранные закладки и загрузить FavIcons, что сабж мне удачно сделал, загрузил иконки и испоганил exe-шники.
