а как он меняет значок в трее? или никак вообще? Что то на сайте нет скриншотов внешнего вида?

Запуск как служба, нет никаких значков. Они просто не нужны.

Скриншот-таки есть.
Это единственный правильный софт с невообразимыми возможностями. Но надо иметь хотя бы базовые знания для его успешного использования.
Для _просто_ использования можно вообще не иметь никаких знаний и не читать исчерпывающий файл помощи, помещённый в zip(но в этом случае теряются все дополнительные возможности).
Кстати, теперь в архиве есть великолепная GUI-утилитка UsbDriveInfo.exe,
её не менее великолепный актуальный консольный аналог всегда доступен по ссылке

Доброго.

1). Работает ли под Windows 7 x64
2). Поддерживаются ли смартфоны/планшеты/mp3-плееры/фотоаппараты т.е устройства которые содержат помимо внешней карты памяти и внутренний накопитель ? - можно ли для них задать свою определённую букву диска ?
3). работает ли для total commandera ?

Есть несколько внешних устройств с накопителями памяти (смартфон, планшет, mp3-плеер, флешки (2-е), 2-а внешних ЖД диска разной ёмкости, фотоаппарат) соответственно при их подключении система присваевает опредёленную букву каждому накопителю (диску) который подключается к системе и имя устройства.

Нужно закрепить за каждым устройством свою определённую букву диска (включая встроенный накопитель) (и имя устройства) не зависимо от порядка подключения устройств.

Помогите, перешел на восьмерку и появилась проблема, винда постоянно меняет буквы на одном из фиксированных жестких. На диске четыре раздела и первым трем винда после чего-то меняет буквы.

Что мне в ини прописать, если не трудно, поподробнее, а то сам я вообще ничего не понял.

На Win8.1 пока ещё не позволяет ничего поделать с самовольством системы, создающей за каким-то на FAT32 сменных носителях папку System Volume Information(Win8 так не хулиганила).

народ, отпишитесь-как программа убирает буквы с гнезд картридера ?

Хорошо убирает. Нет карты памяти в гнезде – нет буквы.

DimmYее не нужно устанавливать ? на win 8.1 будет работать ? нужно ли держать в автозагрузке ?

Распаковать архив нужной разрядности в папку и запустить файл _install.cmd.
Про Win 8 не знаю, не пользуюсь. Попробуйте сами, заодно другим расскажете.

а собственно как убрать буквы с пустого картридера ?

Обнаружилась программа, в некоторой степени обладающая функциями USBDLM.
Drive Letter Changer 1.0
Официально портабельна, бесплатна. Поменял букву у флешки, изменения сохранились после перезагрузки флешки и машины.
