This Freeware program was created to be able to watch partially downloaded DivX (AVI) movies. It can rebuild or strip the index part of the movie, which is at the end of the file. There are also a basic error detection, which can detect serious errors in the audio/video stream.

Подскажите,
что делает кнопка "Strip Index".
Почему когда я прверяю разные файлы кнопкой
"Check Errors", программа выдает одно и то же
сообщение "List index out of bounds (1)"?

Насколько я помню - отрезает индексы, т.е. операция в определённом смысле обратная "Rebuild Index".

Зачем не знаю, может чтоб можно было 'откат' сделать после Rebuildа Indexа, но это не есть в чистом виде откат.

Программа оставила двоякое впечатление:
мне ее сильно нахваливали, а толку никакого.
У меня куча проблемных фильмов и ни один
из них не удалось починить. Наверно, надо
пробовать другую прогу. Хотя All Video Fixer
мне тоже не помог.Не знаю, что и делать то.

Желательно представлять, что за проблемы то в файлах имеются.
Сабж по большому счёту делает две вещи - он может быстро проверить AVI-файл на битость структуры и восстановить индексы у усечённого, например недокачанного до конца, AVI-файла. С чем он неплохо справляется.

Проблема в следующем:
я записываю avi-файлы на болванки, чтобы смотреть фильмы
на большом экране. При воспроизведении фильма начинаются
разные глюки: картинка тормозится на некоторое время, затем
как бы догоняет звук; на экране появляются квадраты разного
цвета, потом исчезают; воспроизведение останавливается и
фильм выбрасывается в главное меню.
Как я понимаю, это проблемы с индексами и я надеялся, что
Rebuild index мне поможет.

Я достаточно долго пользовался версией 1.10 и тоже получал ошибку "List index out of bounds (1)", если делал только проверку "Check Errors". Как недавно выяснил - это происходит только если установлен пыржик "Log Errors". Если его снять - проверка происходит нормально. Только недавно узнал о существовании беты 1.13, в ней такой ошибки нет, но добавлено два бага. 1 - после перезагрузки программы пыржик Log Errors слетает. 2 - лог-файл создается там же, где и проверяемый файл, а не в папке программы. Более того, если в той же папке проверить другой файл, то лог перезаписывается без предупреждений.
Скачал DivFix++, в ней те же 2 фичи от 1.13, так еще и размер в 3 раза больше. Единственый плюс - показывает число кадров для каждого файла. По идее, если есть 2 битых файла, то можно на этом основании выбрать файл с бОльшим числом кадров.
