http://www.powerquest.com/support/primus/id817.cfm Solution: Error 600 Error trying to create batch file To work around this error, try any of the following:
-- Create the batch file on a floppy diskette by running the PowerQuest program with the "pqb" switch pointing to a batch file on the floppy drive.
For example: pqmagic /pqb=a:\batch.pqb
-- Avoid creating a batch file in the first place by running the PowerQuest program with a NULL value assigned to the "pqb" switch.
For example: pqmagic /pqb=null
-- Boot from a floppy diskette that loads CD-ROM support and a RAM drive, and then run the PowerQuest program.
-- If you were trying to run PartitionMagic from the rescue diskettes when you received this error, check the second rescue diskette to see if it is write-protected. If it is, flip the write-protect tab to the "write" position.
Problem Description:
Error 600 Error trying to create batch file
Error 600
Problem Environment:
PartitionMagic
PartitionMagic Pro
ServerMagic
Cause(s) of the problem
The PowerQuest software lets you specify a series of changes to make to your partitions, and then executes all the changes when you click "Apply." At this point, the software writes a batch file to disk and then runs the batch file (immediately, if a lock can be secured on all partitions that will be affected by the changes; or in a special "reboot" mode after rebooting your computer if not all partitions can be locked). In the Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows NT Workstation versions of the software, the batch file is located in your \Windows\System directory. In the DOS versions, it is saved to the RAM drive. The batch file has a .PQB file extension. If the batch file cannot be created, cannot be written, or cannot be located when the software attempts to execute the command file, Error 600 is reported.
