После продолжительного затишья возобновилась разработка альтернативного менеджера закачек Free Download Manager. Программа является компактной, но по возможностям не уступает аналогам. Содержит встроенный планировщик, докачивает файлы, для ускорения работы разбивает задания на части. Может скачивать файлы в трех режимах загрузки полосы. Доступны и продвинутые настройки для работы с конкретными серверами (имя, пароль, число подключений, группа и прочее). Присутствует встроенный оффлайн-браузер для скачивания web-сайтов, а также функции предварительного просмотра видео и аудио файлов.

В новой тестовой версии добавлена возможность портативной установки, поддержка BitTorrent и Metalink, расширенное использование макросов, менеджер просмотра сайтов, а также многое другое.
