» Проблемы с VMWare

Установил гостем Ubuntu.
Обьясните,пожалуйста, как установить VMWare Tools.
Делаю так : ВМ -Установка средств VMWare... Дальше ничего не понимаю - открываеться какой то диск с папками,что с ними делать не пойму...

курить линукс. Здесь офтопик. И удалить нах русификатор вмвари.

Vmware Tools - это обычная программа под ту ось, которая установлена в госте. Иди к линуксоидам и учись устнавливать программы. А в работать гость будет и без тулзов, только медленнее чем мог бы.

я за последние несколько страниц ну раза 3 точно давал ссылку - в свое время нашел просто по гуглю на запрос что то типа "установка Vmware Tools на Linux"..

Здравствуйте.
У меня vmware стоит на windows xp sp2.
Гостевой системой недавно установил Mandriva Linux 2007 рус.
Все работало и без vmware tools. ОСОБЕННО ЗВУК.
Потом установил vmware tools.
Мышка теперь сама переключается в зависимости от того над какой системой находится , а вот Звук ПРОПАЛ.

Я в Linux совсем еще зеленый, но как не бился звук не восстановил.

Подскажите пожалуйста, как вернуть звук.

PS: vmware tools ставил так:
после подключения ISO запустил vmware tools.rpm
после установки в консоли под root
vmware-config-tools.pl
[здесь было много текста и пара вопросов, в каком разрешении экрана грузиться при загрузке]
потом exit для выхода из root.
Затем запустил vmware-toolbox &
там звуковая подключается при загрузке гостевой.

Если при загрузке Linux нажать <Esc> то в подробном режиме видно, что при подключении звука результат [СБОЙ]

Часов через 6, попробую выложить. Счас нет машины под рукой.

Кто может разъяснить - можно ли ставить на 64-битный хост 32-битного гостя. Какие могут быть проблемы? более конкретно: на 64-битную хост-систему W2003 SE R2 хочу поставить несколько 32-битных гостевых систем W2003 SE R2

если не ошибаюсь назначать следующим образом:

на гост. машине создается 2 сет.карты. 1 карте назначается статический адрес из зарезервированного диапозона адресов. а второй карте ???? догадываюсь, что на первой надо выбрать шлюзом- ip второй, а на второй шлюз - ip реальной ?
на хосте провайдер дал адрес типа 192.168.254.2

Господа, подскажите как подключить варю к инету. Комп подключен к инету через прокси сервер, и можно ли это вобче сделать? Если можно, то поподробнее, а то я в этом деле не особо разбираюсь.

Варю подключать к инету не надо, к инету можно подключить гостевую систему: либо через виртуальную сеть (которых несколько штук автоматом устанавливается вместе с варей на хост), либо через бридж (виртуальное устройство канального уровня, которые также несколько ставится вместе с варей).

А как именно это сделать - о том тысячекратно объяснялось, в т. ч. в этой теме.

Всем привет. Впервые Попытался поставить ОС на гостевую машину из образа, смонтированного на виртуальный привод.
Главная машина - Windows
Неудачная попытка поставить на гостевую Linux Slackware 12(hugesmp.s)
Именно в чем поблема:
Еще до начала установки, дабы разметить файловую систему при попытке

:/#fdisk /dev/hda
получаю Unable to open /dev/hda

Конкретно вопрос - проблема может решиться прожигом образов на оптичесие диски ?
PS надеюсь правильная тема )

fdisk -l для получения списка жестких.
Скорее всего вам надо размечать /dev/sda

Я предлагаю рассмотреть следующую гипотетическую ситуацию. При создании диска виртуальной машины был задан максимальный размер диска 100 Гб. Затем в процессе работы вм объем диска составил 70 Гб. Возникла необходимость уменьшить объем диска вм с 70 до 35 Гб. Были выполнены стандартные процедуры удаления ненужных файлов, дефрагментация диска и объем файлов на диске гостевой системы, предположим, составил 25 Гб.

Вопрос - после дефрагментации размер файла-хранилища диска виртуальной машины, уменьшается или нет? Если нет, то как уменьшить его объем? Имеется ввиду уменьшить максимальный размер диска вм.
Есть ли стандартный инструментарий в VMWARE для этого? Или какой нибудь иной?

Ну там есть какойто дефрагментатор.
Но я бы предложил как одно из решений клонирование дисков с помощью,допустим, Acronis True Image.
Создаете новый диск меньшего размера и клонируете на него старый.
Главное чтобы места хватило...

Нашел решение. В 6-ой версии есть пункт в меню файл-импорт в котором есть и возможность задать новый размер диска при импорте виртуальной машины. То есть можно просто проимпортировать существующую вм в новую и задать необходимые параметры

Народ, а кто-нибудь знает, как заставить Linux-версию (x86_64, WS 6.0.3, Player 2.0.3) нормально работать с виртуальными машинами, которые хранятся на NTFS-разделах? Эти разделы смонтированы на чтение/запись, в fstab указана файловая система ntfs-3g, но при попытке загрузки вм с такого раздела или при попытке создания новой машины на таком разделе vmware сразу же вываливается с различными ошибками, явно относящимися к работе с ФС. Если скопировать вм на раздел ext3, то она нормально грузится, но скопировать ее нельзя по "политическим" соображениям, да и неудобно это - каждый раз туда-сюда копировать.

Имеется Линукс RHEL 4 AS (RedHat Ent Linux Advansed Server 4)
1 проставил агента acronis-a (от ATIES ver 9.5.8076)
2 сделал образ
3 образ конвертнул в диск vmware
4 пытаюсь грузиться в vmware - не грузиться, говорить kernel panic

посоветуйте как решить проблему? причем с windows образами все работает на ура...

Тяжелый случай.
Как я понял оно стояло на чемто типа выделенного сервера на RAID массиве?
Вообще вместо конвертирования можно было просто образ развернуть. Но это так к слову.

В общем как вариант надо загрузиться с livecd linux и подправить загрузочные файлы(ядро,initrd,загрузчик)...
По скрину видно что оно пытается загрузить драйвер raid а потом не может найти корневой раздел...

ни разу не видел, ткните плиз хде.........
тысячекратно обсуждалось будет ли работать на варе виста, линух и прочии ОС, почему нет звука и плохое изоброжение, где нах тулсы, как подключить флешку, но по-поводу инета........

Я думаю дело в том что ntfs-3g это UserSpace драйвер (FUSE etc).
Соостветственно вмварь не может получить доступ к файлам на низком уровне и следавательно увы, раюотать с него не может.

Как вариант можно попробовать установку в режиме обновления но я не знаю к чему это может привести...
С RHEL дела не имел.

Вообще судя по скрину там неполадки или в загрузчике(lilo\grub) или в /etc/fstab.
Последнее вероятнее всего.

не я один спрашивал про внедрения прокси в варю - но как-то мимо проезжали данных постов.

goletsa написал, что как вариант можно вторую (смотрящую во внешний мир)сет.карту подключить по натингу. но вот дальнейшего продолжения это не получило.
