2 часа прошло, на диск ничего не пишет, файл mbx нулевой, проц на 100% загружен
сдается мне оно ничего не делает

Стесняюсь спросить, как же у вас папка Inbox разрослась до 9 Гигов?
Вы что же, не раскидываете входящие по подпапкам (например, по годам)? Не перемещаете в архив?
Предположу, что с файлами такого размера утилиты для восстановления просто не справляются.
Попробуйте "порезать" messages.tbb на меньшие кусочки (хотя бы для проверки).

Раз ничего не подходит, попробуй штатными средствами сабжа создать архив потчы (нужных папок), а потом открыть его на другом компе с установленной новой актуальной версией (например 6.8.8). Чем черт не шутит: может сработает.

Для проверки можно порезать чем угодно: HEX-editor'ом, splitter'ом, даже архиватором (в режиме архивирования БЕЗ сжатия с разбивкой на тома). И протестировать первый и последний куски на предмет восстановления.

тяжело идет процесс, первый кусок с начала отрезал winHexом , получилось 1,8 гиги, напсал что там 1800 писем нашло, отрезал второй кусок на 2,8 гига, запустил и память расти начала, и забило всю оперативу и виртуальную, управляю удаленно компом, вообщем потерял сейчас к нему доступ, радмин вылетел, видимо больше 2 гиг файл уже схавать не может

написал типа инструкцию

Пропали все письма из папки Входящие, файл MESSAGES.TBB размером более 9 Гб
Пробовал стандартным "Проверка целостности/ремонт", восстановило только часть писем 1700 шт за 2008 и 2011 год после чего ругнулось на ошибку, но этом восстановление прервалось.
The Bat Message Recovery также восстановило только 1800 писем и прервалось ошибкой
Reber также не смог помочь.

Помог "TTB2MBX" версии 1.2

Открываем MESSAGES.TBB в WinHEX
видим что начало каждого письма начинается с комбинации "21 09 70 19", по ним и будем ориентироваться,
жмем "Find Hex Falues" вводим 21 09 70 19 и на цифре два помечаем начало выделенно участка комбинацией Alt+1 или ПКМ выбрав Begining of block, после чего прокруткой листаем файл на нужное расстояние (примерно) жмем F3 и находим начало ближайшего письма по комбинации "21 09 70 19", ставим курсор на предыдущий символ перед 21 и комбинация Alt+2 или ПКМ и выбираем "End of block", после чего выделенный участок нам нужно сохранить в новый файл, для этого жмем на панели Edit - Copy All - Into New File вводим 1.TBB
и так далее, делим весь файл на куски по 1-1,5 гб
После этого в папку где лежать эти куски, копируем "TTB2MBX"
В командной строке вводим

Уважаемые участники, здравствуйте! Извините, если уже было - поиском на мой вопрос ответа не нашел...
Скажите, есть ли возможность заставить The Bat работать с таблицами так, как это делает Outlook?

Поясню: допустим, есть excel-файл, в котором какая-то таблица с определенным форматированием, цветами ячеек и пр. Если выделить эту таблицу (или ее часть), скопировать и вставить в outlook, то она копируется со всем форматированием, цветами и так далее.
В Bat же вставляется ну очень "криво" - форматирование слетает, цвета ячеек не отображаются, но даже если добавить границы - все равно другому человеку с outlook-ом приходят просто данные из таблицы без ее границ. Не говоря уже про цвета ячеек - их нет вообще.

Перепробовал разные версии, начиная с 4-ки и до самой свежей. Письма, само собой, составляются в html.
Скажите, пожалуйста, куда копать? Или это в принципе нереально?

Дело в том, что с просмотром html проблем нет

Есть проблемы с составлением html - т.е. когда составляешь письмо, вставляешь из экселя таблицу, она отображается в окне составления письма... ну, более-менее. НО получателю таблица приходит БЕЗ границ. А также идет коверкание цветов ячеек - допустим, цвет ячейки в экселе светло-голубой, а бат его конвертирует в темно-голубой, и отправляет соответственно как темно-голубой.

Например, так выглядит таблица в excel:


Так она выглядит после вставки в окно составления письма the bat:


А так она приходит получателю, у получателя - outlook или тот же the bat:


Если составлять тоже самое письмо со вставкой таблицы в outlook, то таблица вставляется без искажений, отправляется без искажений, все почтовые клиенты (включая bat) отображают ее как надо.
Т.е. проблема, ИМХО, в редакторе html, с помощью которого the bat составляет письма. Вот может быть есть возможность испольовать либо сторонний редактор, либо что-то сделать с настройками, чтобы бат составлял письма как outlook.

P.S. Вставлять таблицы картинками, а также прикреплять excel-файл - не вариант

Нет. The Bat на такое, к счастью, не рассчитан.

И я, как оказалось, не один такой - в сети много вопросов с аналогичными "проблемами", но, судя по всему, ни один из альтернативных клиентов не может работать с составлением писем как outlook... Наиболее приближен emClient, но у него нет штатной портативной версии, надо изгаляться...

Некоторые другие клиенты умеют использовать внешние редакторы HTML, например, Becky Mail. Правда, не имею представления, сработает ли это с документами HTML, сгенерированными MS Excel, очень уж они специфические. Надо проверять.

Некоторые клиенты, например, Thunderbird и его форки с соответствующими плагинами, позволяют напрямую редактировать, а, следовательно, и вставлять из буфера исходный HTML код.

В последней версии 7.1.18 некоторые HTML-письма стали по-умолчанию открываться в простом текстовом виде. Странно.
Настройки просмотра стандартные:

При кликании на web-ссылке в письме TheBat! она открывается в Firefox-е по истечении секунд 10-15-20.
Это "фича" TheBat! или Firefox?
И как побороть?

При нажатии клавиши "Я/Z" не зависимо от регистра, открывается окно создания нового сообщения.

Этого никто запретить не может. Но я бы сделал так, как советует billibons. Возможно, вы пропустили в его посте вторую фразу: "Назначьте для проверки другой "браузер по умолчанию" (например, IE)."
Вот вы поэкспериментируйте, а потом приходите обратно и расскажите о результатах. Тогда, глядишь, можно будет догадаться о причинах.
